Over the weekend I spent a bit of my Saturday hanging out at the Portland Mercado's first anniversary celebration, and taking some photos for them. I happen to spend quite a bit of time in the commissary kitchen (a commercial kitchen rented by the hour for businesses who don't have their own kitchen) while I'm baking with Batter Bakery, but I was so excited to spend some time experiencing everything else this great place has to offer!
The Portland Mercado is both a food business incubator and a cultural connector - "a place for culinary and cultural exchange" as they put it. Offering affordable kitchen and retail space for small businesses, with a focus on Latin American culture in the businesses that are outwardly facing in this hub of food goodness!
Next time you're in Southeast Portland, make sure to stop by their sweet colorful spot for a great cup of coffee, some chorizo, Latin American groceries, and a meal from one of the amazing food trucks on site.
And now, some of my favorite photos from the day!
